Dancers
When there is nothing to say, there is always YouTube:
This is one of our favorite vidoes. I love the classic movements with the modern music.

I saw this little guy at my local Craft Warehouse last year. It's a big craft store a little bit like Hobby Lobby, only not. ...

Wow...that was amazing on so many levels. It ovewhelms me, seeing what people can train their bodies to do, and realize I have trouble climbing two flights of stairs.
ReplyDeleteAnd the music...how energizing!
My understanding is that one of the goals of ballet is to make the dance effortless. Have they achieved that goal? It certainly looks that way to me. It seems to me that you are somewhat correct about the music and the dance, but to me one of the things that makes this clip so appealing is that the beauty of the classical dance forms seems to be contrasted with the primal quality of the music. The music also works well with what the dancers are doing because, although it is classical ballet, it is obvious that they are not in a performance but rather practicing. This reflects the intensity of their discipline and the music which is also intense adds to this mood. Anyways, perhaps it would be best to enjoy the whole video without any analysis.
ReplyDeleteThat's like seeing STOMP to a Vivaldi piece. Very fun...

Great clip. I watched a few of the others, too. I love ballet.
ReplyDeleteI dream constantly of dancing on my toes. It seems the closet to flying. How beautiful. Thanks for inspiring me to get off my butt. I'll start with a cup of coffee and my daughter's tu tu. And a crown. Definitely a crown.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!
