Merry Christmas!

I have to say there is so much to blog about.  I'd love to just catch you up on my adventures but I want to get this post out today because it contains something special for you, my ten loyal readers.  Over on Instagram I said I was giving a way a free Dapoppins style Christmas Little Baldie art print to my newsletters subscribers.  That's for you all too - just pop your email into that link on the right or on your phone scroll down to the bottom of this post and subscribe to get the link.

Not everyone loves this kind of playful art.  I get it.  In fact, I kinda thought I was one of the few special people who wanted to draw child-like, simple, fun images with a primitive feel.  The strangeness of the features sometimes unnerves people.  You don't have to tell me that's not true, because my husband and my kids and their friends are some of those people.  But that's okay.

No really.  It's okay.  Because all art doesn't appeal to all people.  I totally don't get why Jackson Pollock paintings sell for so much money.  I love abstract art, but...really?

It stuns me and humbles me and blesses me that people out there that I never met like my art, enjoy my blog, laugh at my corny jokes, and care about my life.  I wanted to hug every one of you.

Virtual hugs are nice...but.

Art is better.

So if you happen to stop by the blog over Christmas, here is a second freebie, just for you.  To say thank you!

Some of the collage elements on this card are from Pink Paper Peppermints Comfort and Joy collection.  I love the vintage elements.

I tried to print the images up directly onto plain card-stock cards that I bought on sale from Joann's, but it was a no go.  Mr. Printer had a hissy fit!  It was like trying to fit in a 20 year old prom dress, I tell you.  All groans and moans, and wails of woe with flashing lights and distress signals.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the printing attempt and so I tired again on regular old pre-sized photo papers.  And Tah-Dah!  That worked fine.

I had to do a little bit of trimming and the images weren't a perfect fit, but that's how I roll - messy, imperfect: childlike.

Merry Christmas to all my dear friends.  Be happy. Be blessed.

Sincerely,

Dapoppins
